Katerina and Vasilis is a married couple from Ioannina, Greece, and will be the koumbaroi, i.e., the people who, during a Greek Orthodox wedding, exchange the crowns over the couples heads, and have numerous other related roles in the couple’s life. Even though the koumbaroi currently live in Düsseldorf, Germany, the two couples experience the distance between the two countries to be a lot shorter than what it actually is. As a result, Katerina and Vasilis are really close to the bride and the groom, where they occasionally share beautiful weekends together either under the German or the Dutch weather, frequently accompanied by great wine and food.
